Linda Nazareth is an economist, a futurist and a respected authority on the future of work. Her keynotes are handcrafted to get your organization ready for the future and to leave audiences excited about what that future will look like.
Linda’s clients have included American Express, The Economist Magazine, LVMH, TD Bank, BMO, Shell, Dentsu, E & Y and Fidelity amongst many others, as well as industry associations from numerous sectors and all levels of government. She works with every meeting planner to understand the needs of their organization and tailors a keynote to each one.
For her keynotes, Linda is able to draw upon her unique background and expertise in economics and demographics. She started her career as a government economist before becoming a Senior Economist with a major financial institution, then changed things up spending a decade on-air as the economist for Business News Network (BNN). During her time at BNN, Linda started writing books and giving keynote presentations, and eventually left daily broadcasting to give those passions her full-time attention.
In 2023 Linda released her fourth book, Working it Out: How to Be Ready for the Redefined Future of Work. She is also the host of Work and the Future, a podcast that explores trends around the labour force and the workplace as well a frequent media commentator and the Senior Fellow for Economics and Population Change at think-tank the Macdonald Laurier Institute.
Speaker Topics
From globalization to urbanization to dealing with demographic change, the world we know is morphing into a different planet with different economic opportunities and challenges. What are the trends taking today into tomorrow, and what are the trends that are resulting from the shift?
In ‘Economorphics’ , Linda Nazareth talks about the dozens of things she sees happening, and the challenges – and opportunities they present to the economy, the labour market and the financial markets – and to your industry as well.
Thrown for a Loop: Climate, the Circular Economy and the Future of Work
Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) are the pillars of sustainable development, and no organization can afford to ignore them. But how to best achieve the new metrics in a world where the economy is constantly shifting? What are the considerations for organizations who want to reconsider how they do business? How should the circular economy factor into planning? And what does ESG mean for the future of work? Creating a successful ESG organization means taking into account many considerations and in many cases making considerable changes.
In this presentation Linda Nazareth turns her economist-eye on the ESG future and what it means for organizations. From HR planning to the investment considerations, she looks at what ESG means for organizations and how to be prepared for what comes next.
Working it Out: Getting Ready for the Redesigned World of Work
The world is changing and so is the very notion of ‘work’. The 2020 pandemic has accelerated the idea that work is not somewhere you need to go every day, and as we move forward there will be more changes ahead. Jobs may not exist and if they do, they may be in a very different form.
There will also be many changes to the demand for workers. For years we have been told that our aging workforce will mean a shortage of workers in many industries. More recently, the narrative has changed to one where robots do everyone’s work and there are not enough jobs to go around. Which view of the future is correct? More important, how will our lives and organizations change as we navigate the changing realities?
In this much-requested presentation based on her book of the same title, Linda Nazareth casts an economist’s eye to the way the big trends are changing our realities. From looking at the way global change, demographics, and technology are coming together to reshape the work world through to examining the challenges for individuals, businesses, and governments, she sketches a world that is both unsettling and exciting.
The Global Economy
Europe, the U.S., oil prices, interest rates, population change, currency markets, the markets and more – what is the big picture and how do you make the right decisions to stay ahead of the curve?
How does North America fit into the mix – and how do you plan for your own industry and investments?
In this presentation Linda Nazareth looks at the economic outlook, the opportunities in the face of challenges, and the way that the larger picture will affect your industry.
Testimonials
Linda was fantastic! Very well received. All very positive responses. Linda was very pleasant to work with. She met with one of our Board Officers just prior (he introduced her), and he was quite impressed. She covered a lot of content in the hour. Still had time for questions. She did her homework on our industry, and it showed.
Best presentation for the entire conference. Fabulous speaker. Makes you think outside of the box. The speaker knew how to keep the audience interested. I have listened carefully and with great interest to all her ideas. I appreciated the fact that she was a woman presenter as there aren’t enough at this conference. The tone of voice, the way she moved on stage was perfect to keep the audience interested. The coverage of every subject was well done and well presented.
Linda Nazareth shares a breadth of information that business leaders need to know in order to make informed decisions. She presents the information in an engaging and informative way leaving the audience with an increased knowledge base and an energized mindset toward the topic. It’s easy to get caught in the narrow focus of your own industry, Linda does a great job of reminding us all to pay attention to the wider world around us and how it impacts our specific industry. Because of her we were able to craft stronger strategic plans that took into account global elements.
My association engaged Ms. Linda Nazareth to provide the keynote address to our annual conference. She delivered a dynamic presentation linking demographics to economic and population changes…the audience was very engaged and impressed with Linda’s mastery of the topic.
I wanted to reach out and, first, thank you for the excellent work you did during Friday’s program. I heard from my team, as well as from the client that you did a great job as host and moderator. Second, I want to thank you for your patience last week and throughout the entire process. As we discussed, there was a lot of anxiety about this program and, unfortunately, I believe some of that was put onto your shoulders during the days and hours leading to the live performance. You were professional and understanding throughout the process, thank you for that.
